All New Book Club Reader Questions for Disruption by Design

1. Alexa is initially portrayed as an unsympathetic, hard career-focused women. Do you think it necessary for an ambitious career woman to make sacrifices to their personal lives or do you think this is a myth? Can you Lean In and Have it All at the same time?

2. Do you think some women project a harder image in order to compete in their professional environments or is it that serious ambitious women are perceived as bitches? Is this fair?

3. What is your opinion of office romances? Do you think Alexa and Krystof crossed a taboo line when they had an affair? Do you think Krystof exploited his position of power?

4. How would you have dealt with the client lunch where Alexa was sidelined by the old-boys club?

5. Do you think Bruce’s career burn-out is a common experience for successful men? Do you think more would quit if they had the money to do so?

6. Alexa reconnects with her passion for design while at a retreat at the Buddhist monastery. Do you think her decision to venture out on her own instead of fighting to succeed at an established larger firm was a career cop-out?
